Sometimes, physical distance is measured in thousands of miles, but design has the power to bridge that gap. This project started with a commission from Maripaz, a mother whose son lives in California with his partner, who was born in Riga. Both work in San Francisco, and although their lives are now there, the connection to their roots remains vital.

Maripaz wanted to give them an unforgettable keepsake of their birthplaces to hang together in their US apartment. We wanted the gift to be much more than just a decorative map, so we worked with technical precision to elevate that sense of nostalgia.
To give them an even more vivid memory, we went one step further in customization: we marked the exact blocks where their original homes in Madrid and Riga are located. This way, whenever they look at their walls in San Francisco, they won't just see their cities—they’ll be able to point exactly to where they grew up.
