Cue: What happens when a map "has no streets"?

When Paloma reached out to me for this project, she was looking to capture the "Asturian essence" for a vacation home in Cue (Llanes). The challenge was fascinating: how could I create a LetraMap for a place where the urban grid is almost non-existent? She wanted something that went beyond a simple map; she sought a piece that breathed the peace of her summers.

In such small villages, streets aren't enough to fill the design. That’s why we decided to turn to the most authentic structure of the area: the cadastre (land registry).

Beyond streets: Cadastral geometry

Instead of leaving empty spaces, I drew each of the land plots. This technical decision not only gave the map a beautiful organic texture but also reflects the true identity of Llanes: a land divided and lived in. Thanks to paloma's trust, I turned a geographical limitation into a personalized print that is, above all, a piece of her home.
