My friend Javier wanted a print where he could see the entire Baiona estuary in Pontevedra, but with a very specific focus: marking Praia da Barbeira in a special way. Right next to the yacht club, this is the spot where he has spent wonderful summers since he was a child.
Typography to highlight a seafaring soul
For this print of my design "Unruled", I decided to play with visual storytelling. Instead of marking the beach with color—as I usually do with residential blocks—I placed its name directly into the layout using typography.
The deep blue color of the print further emphasizes Baiona's nautical spirit. The final result is a piece that doesn't just show a location; it evokes the sound of the ocean and a lifetime of memories.
